This tour will focus on Church History, the Mormon Battalion and learning about the different you will visit along the way.

Glenn has personally designed this itinerary to pack as many sites, history and stories from both the pioneers and Mormon Battalion into 5 days as possible. This trip is intended to build testimonies and help you understand the events and places and also feel the spirit at many of these sacred sites.

What's Included in the Price?

  • Glenn Rawson - Glenn will be leading each trip and sharing stories throughout the tour and at each site along the trail.
  • ​All Transportation: We will be traveling on a luxury 55 passenger tour bus. 
  • Quality Hotels - The trip includes 4 nights of lodging along the tour route. We will be staying 3 nights in Old Town, San Diego and spending one night in St. George, UT.
  • Educational lectures and Stories along the way including special surprise guest presenters
  • Park and Visitor Center Sites: Any and all fees, parking, etc. to locations and sites we will visit
  • ​Breakfast on Day 2-5
  • Lunch on some travel days will be provided (box lunches will be provided to allow for more tour time.)

What's NOT Included in the Price?

  • Flights - If you are traveling on the first tour, you will be responsible to pay for a one way flight home from San Diego. If you are joining the second tour group, you will need to pay for a one way flight to San Diego to join the tour group. Our team will be happy to assist with flight bookings.
  • ​Dinners: There are so many amazing restaurants near the places we are staying that you will have the opportunity to choose where and what to eat. Dinner will be on your own. 
  • Lunch:  We may stop during the tour on one or two days and do lunch on your own.
  • Tips: Tips are not required but are allowed. If you feel inclined to tip the bus driver, tour guide, other team members helping on the tour, etc. it is up to you.

Each Trip will include ONE 55 passenger bus.

You are paying to reserve your spot on on the Mormon Battalion and Pioneer Tour with Glenn Rawson. Travel dates will be determined based on our ability to fill a bus with the minimum number of required travelers. 

If we are able to reach the 30 person minimum of travelers, we expect to be running the trip.  If we do not run the trip, your deposit will be refunded.
Each trip will only have a single bus.  

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this Trip For?
This trip is for anyone who is interested in church history and specifically that of the Mormon Battalion. You must be able to ride on a bus for 6-8 hours and be able to board a bus on your own. You also must be able to walk up to a half mile to reach some of the visitor sites along the way. 
What Should I Bring?
We will provide you with a packing list but temperatures in January-February will be cold in Utah and warmer in San Diego. Please plan to bring weather appropriate clothing for both locations.
Is there a detailed Itinerary?
A detailed itinerary will be emailed to you with your final payment invoice.  We are still finalizing the different stops and some of the logistics with our bus company. 
Is my Deposit Refundable or the trip cost refundable if I need to cancel?
Trip Deposits are refundable if your trip date is unable to happen or you are unable to join another battalion tour in 2022. A full refund will be offered up until 30 days prior to your travel date. Cancelations within 30 days of travel will only be entitled to a partial refund based on commitments that we will have made to the bus company, lodging, etc. We will do our best to treat each person fairly based on the situation but there is no guaranteed refund. Any refund given will be at the discretion of Glenn's travel team. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance that will cover your trip in the event you might need to cancel. Our team can assist with reputable travel insurance providers.
Can I drive myself?
No. Much of the teaching will take place while driving on the bus. If you aren't able to be on the bus you will miss the stories and the experience will not be the same. 
Where will the group meet to join the bus?
For the first tour, we are working on finalizing a location near the Salt Lake City, Park and Jet to join the tour bus. This will allow for an easy return flight. More details about pickup and drop off locations will be included in the final itinerary. Plan to meet the bus somewhere in Salt Lake. If you are coming from Utah County or St. George, we may be able to work with you to meet up with the bus along the way, but this will be approved on a case by case basis.
Do I have to wear a mask or be vaccinated?
You do NOT need to be vaccinated to join this trip nor will there be any type of mask suggestion or mask rules to participate on the trip. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask you are welcome to do so but no person on the trip or the bus will be required or expected to wear a mask while riding the bus.  You may be required to wear a mask in California at specific locations and you will need to wear a mask during your return flight per current government requirements on air travel. 

If you are uncomfortable being around people who are not wearing a mask, we would encourage you to wait until a future time when you do feel comfortable.

If a store or hotel we visit has a mask rule in place and we would ask that anyone in our group be respectful and willing to abide by a store owner's request if they wish to use their services. 

By choosing to come on this trip, you agree to release Glenn Rawson, his team, Amazing Vacations and companies with whom he works from any liability for any injury, sickness, disease or accident that may happen as a result of participating in the trip. 
When is full payment due?
Full payment is due within 45 days of your scheduled travel date. 
Can I pay with a Credit Card?

Once you have paid your deposit you can expect to hear from our travel team within 2 business days to gather additional info from you and to confirm your travel date. (*Our team will be off for the Thanksgiving holiday and spending time with family. Deposits made over Thanksgiving should expect a call the following week.)
